2:45 pm Panel IV. Reclaiming Our Prosperity: Balancing ESG Goals with Industrial and Economic Growth
Western economic growth faces mounting challenges, including the war in Ukraine, renewed threats of trade conflict, and the lingering aftershocks of the COVID pandemic. Achieving sustained growth has become increasingly difficult. Yet, despite these constraints, many Western countries have chosen to further limit their economic potential in the name of environmental protection. Under the influence of radical green ideology and ambitious proposals such as a Green New Deal, Europe’s economic future has been cast into greater uncertainty. This panel examines how the West can responsibly balance economic vitality and environmental stewardship without surrendering to a radical degrowth agenda.
