Doctor in Education and Psychology, Bestselling Author of The Wonder Approach

Catherine L’Ecuyer is a Canadian researcher and educator based in Madrid. She holds an MBA from IESE Business School, a European Master of Research, and a Doctorate in Education and Psychology. Her article “The Wonder Approach to Learning”, published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, introduced a new theory of learning. In recognition of her work, she was named an honorary member of the Spanish Montessori Association in 2020 and has advised educational commissions in Spain, Québec, and the European Commission. She has also contributed to early education policy in Mexico and to UNESCO’s CERLALC on digital media use in childhood.

L’Ecuyer is the author of several books and numerous academic publications on Montessori education, neuromyths, and the effects of technology on children. Her books include It Looks Better in 3D, the first to question digital tech use in childhood in Spain, and The Wonder Approach, published in eight languages and over 60 countries. Her 2021 book Conversaciones con mi maestra—a Socratic dialogue on teaching methods—is now used in university education programs in Spain.

She collaborates with the Mind-Brain Group at the University of Navarra and writes for outlets such as El País, La Vanguardia, El Mundo, and The Huffington Post. She is also the founder and director of Fundación CLE, a non-profit promoting classical education through its Master’s program in Madrid.
