Josefina Gimenez
Director of Research and Innovation at Artimon
With an academic background on Philosophy and Public Policy, Josefina Gimenez has been examining technological and societal transformations for over twenty years, with a particular focus on the impact of technologies like artificial intelligence on our worldviews and social structures.
As the founder and director of Artimon Perspectives, a research institute established in 2018, she defines and leads strategic research directions, coordinates multidisciplinary teams of researchers, and fosters academic collaboration at both national and international levels. Her critical approach is grounded in a systemic analysis of organizational dynamics and digital transformation, aiming to explore long-term challenges often overshadowed by the immediate demands of technological change.
Gimenez's research explores the conditions under which technologies, particularly AI, are adopted, and how they influence individual and collective behaviors, decision-making processes, and broader social narratives. She examines how these innovations reshape not only organizational structures but also human interactions and societal models, often testing the boundaries between technological efficiency and fundamental shared values. Her work seeks to understand the deeper implications of technological change, emphasizing the need for a balanced integration of innovation and human impact.
In addition to her research, Gimenez is lecturer at Sciences Po Paris, where she teaches the use of AI in public decision-making. She also teaches at the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas, where she focuses on strategic foresight and sustainable development, and has previously taught strategy at ESCP, shaping the next generation of innovators.
Before founding Artimon, she co-founded Public Impact Perspectives, an observatory dedicated to the analysis of public policies and innovation in the public sector. This experience allowed her to develop a unique expertise in strategic foresight and public policy evaluation, integrating a critical perspective on the long-term impacts of institutional reforms.
Josefina Gimenez is also known for her ability to communicate complex scientific ideas and knowledge to diverse audiences, and promote a holistic view of innovation that encourages deep reflection on the social and ethical dimensions of technological change. In this way, she contributes to a systemic analysis of the future and the evolution of organizations and interpersonal dynamics, in a context marked by cyclical reactivity to the detriment of methodical analysis and long-term vision.
