Szabolcs Nagypál's studies focus on the philosophy of law, particularly natural law, the relationship between law and morality, law and literature, law and film, as well as issues related to religious freedom. As a Roman Catholic theologian and scholar of religion, his interests include interreligious and ecumenical dialogue, the social teaching of the Church, the relationship between culture, art, and religion, and the concept of secular religions. As a researcher in liberal arts, he is deeply engaged with 20th-century literature and cinema, writing books and hosting radio programs that analyze some of the most significant works of the film canon.
