Thibaud Gibelin
Historian and Political Scientist, Visiting Fellow at MCC
Thibaud Gibelin is a doctoral candidate in political science, conducting his research under co-supervision at the University of Paris-Est Créteil and Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest. His work explores the resurgence of political realism in Europe, with a particular emphasis on contemporary developments in Hungary.
In 2020, he published his first essay, Pourquoi Viktor Orbán joue et gagne (Why Viktor Orbán Plays and Wins), with Fauves Éditions. The book has since been translated into Hungarian in 2022 and English in 2024.
Gibelin holds academic degrees in history and political science. His professional background includes experience at the European Parliament and a teaching role at a private secondary school.
