Timandra Harkness is a writer, broadcaster, and public speaker whose work explores the intersection of science, technology, and society. Her books include Big Data: Does Size Matter? and Technology Is Not the Problem.

A regular voice on BBC Radio 4, Timandra writes and presents programmes such as FutureProofing, How To Disagree, and Political School. She has contributed to a wide range of publications including the Telegraph, Guardian, Unherd, New Statesman, and WIRED.

She speaks and chairs at events for leading institutions such as the Royal Society, Cheltenham Science Festival, the Alan Turing Institute, and the British Library. With a background in both the arts and sciences, Timandra also performs science-themed comedy and holds degrees in Drama, Mathematics & Statistics, and Philosophy. She is a member of the Royal Statistical Society Council and chairs the editorial board of its journal, Significance.
